Passenger.ie — Train Booking Made Simple
For Free Travel Pass holders who find online booking frustrating.
What It Does
Passenger.ie books train tickets in under a minute — and it feels like texting a friend.
You type where you want to go and when. The app finds available trains, confirms the details, and completes the booking. No menus, no pop-ups, no confusion.
Built specifically for Free Travel Pass holders — seniors and people with disabilities who are entitled to travel but struggle with the standard booking process.
How It Works
- Open passenger.ie on your phone (or the iPhone app)
- Type your journey — e.g. "Westport to Dublin, Friday 24th"
- Pick your train
- Done — booking confirmed

About
Passenger.ie was created by Alex Santos, a Westport-based technology educator who spent four years teaching smartphone skills to seniors across County Mayo.
The app was built after hearing the same frustration in every class: Free Travel Pass holders wanted to book trains but found the process too complicated.
