Cookies and device storage

Passenger uses browser storage for your choices and, only if you accept, first-party analytics. The same privacy choice applies across this website and its guides. Analytics are optional.
Your choice
Reject all keeps Passenger’s optional analytics off. Accept all enables that analytics. Manage preferences lets you review and change the analytics choice. Both options let you use the site. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings button, without having to log in.
We ask again after 180 days. Closing the banner or continuing to browse does not give consent. On withdrawal, we remove the analytics session identifier and stop future analytics requests. Previously received records are covered by our retention policy.

All storage above is set by Passenger.ie. Browsers can restore session storage when restoring tabs. You can remove it in your browser's website-data settings. If storage is blocked, a privacy choice may only last for the current page.
The booking service may keep temporary conversation state in page memory after you submit a request. This is separate from optional analytics. Administrator pages also use an essential, secure login session cookie; it is not used to measure visitors.
What analytics sends
After acceptance, selected events are sent to Passenger's own server: known page names, a broad referring-source category where available, app-store link clicks and journey-flow events. Submitted searches can contribute known station names, broad date ranges, word-count ranges and whether the parser needed clarification. A first-request template may keep a small set of common journey words, with places, dates, times and every other word replaced by placeholders. Exact search text, keystrokes, replay recordings, contact information, ticket references and advertising identifiers are excluded from the new analytics.
The analytics uses a pseudonymous session identifier, so we do not describe every event as anonymous. Event records are scheduled for removal after 90 days and daily aggregate totals after 13 months. Cleanup runs during service operation and resumes if a stopped service restarts. Hosting and database providers process this information for Passenger. Read our Privacy Policy for more detail.
Other services
The updated site does not load PostHog. The landing page directly embeds YouTube's player through youtube-nocookie.com, its privacy-enhanced mode. The player can load as you browse to it, independently of Passenger's analytics choice. Playback starts when you press the player's play control. Loading the player connects to Google, which may receive your IP address, device and viewing information and use its own cookies or browser storage under its privacy policy. Rejecting Passenger analytics does not disable YouTube or erase information already received by Google. If you follow links to other services, their own privacy practices apply.
